The recipient of the Leadership Award has an outstanding teaching ability, are able to mobilize and unify others for the improvement of neonatal care, and have a vision for the future practice of neonatal nursing.


Selection Criteria
Examples of how the nominee may demonstrate excellent leadership include, but are not limited to:
  • Promotes a learning environment through teaching, training, and coaching.
  • Mobilizes and unifies others in causes for the improvement of neonatal care.
  • Creates a vision and inspires others by that vision.
  • Proactively drives improvements.
  • Facilitates and promotes team building, staff growth and development.
  • Works collaboratively and empowers others.

Winner Receives

  • Complimentary conference registration
  • $500 stipend to be applied to hotel and travel costs
  • $250 honorarium
  • Trophy


  • A nominee's CV must be submitted along with the application.
  • A nominator's letter must accompany the application. The letter should clearly address the selection criteria and provide specific examples of how the nominee has demonstrated excellence in leadership.
