Robyn Main Excellence in Clinical Practice

This award is given in honor of Robyn Main, MSN RNC. Robyn was a staff developmental specialist and perinatal clinical nurse specialist at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. She received the Florida Nurses Association "Nurses Who Make a Difference Award", and received one of the first research grants awarded by NANN. Her continued dedication to patients, families, and neonatal nursing in spite of a battle with terminal cancer was a source of inspiration to her colleagues.


To recognize and encourage excellence of those neonatal nurses responsible for providing direct patient care.

Selection Criteria
The nominee should:

  • Maintain currency in clinical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate expert communication skills.
  • Practice a model of family-centered care.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in daily practice.
  • Facilitate an interdisciplinary plan of care for patients.
  • Be viewed as an exemplary role model.

Winner Receives

  • Complimentary conference registration
  • $500 stipend to be applied to hotel and travel costs
  • $250 honorarium
  • Trophy

The nominee should:

  • Be a NANN member
  • Provide direct patient care as a staff nurse
  • Demonstrate consistent excellence in care involving difficult and/or unique patient, family and/or staff situations.
