Minimally-Invasive Fetal Surgery for Neural Tube Defects: 1.0 CNE

This presentation will review the risks and benefits of in-utero repair of spina bifida. We will review the results of the Management of Myelomeningocele Study (MOMS) trial published in 2011 and how the results of this study changed the standard of care for fetuses affected by spina bifida. We will also review a novel approach for in-utero repair of spina bifida that involves minimally invasive surgery. The short and long term risks and benefits of this novel approach will also be reviewed.
